Plan Your Skip Hire in Port Kennedy
For any project of a reasonable size, planning and preparation are often key to achieving a successful outcome. Part of that is getting rid of any waste that the project creates since failing to do so efficiently can hold up other activities.
At Jim’s Skip Bins, we understand how important your project is to you and we can help you achieve success. For anything from a large construction project that generates large amounts of different types of waste to a simple house clean up, we’re here to ensure everything goes smoothly.
Identify Your Waste
Planning starts with identifying how much waste you’re likely to have since this will dictate the size of bin you need. If there’s a lot of waste and it will be created over a long period, you may need a series of bins at set times to handle it all.
The type of waste you’ll be creating is also important. If it’s hazardous material, such as asbestos, we’ll need to know about it in advance. Unlike some skip hire companies, we are able to handle hazardous waste, but we need to be aware of it since special treatment is needed.
Similarly, we need to know about certain waste materials, such as tyres and mattresses, that require particular processing. And if the waste is especially heavy, for example, concrete and other building rubble, we’ll need to ensure you get a robust skip and a truck capable of moving the weight.
Our smaller bins are transported and off-loaded by chain lift trucks whereas the larger sizes are hook lift bins that slide off the back of the truck. This latter type is suitable for the heaviest of loads but requires quite an amount of space, both above and behind the truck. Chain lift bins, however, are best for small jobs and sites where space is limited and access may be restricted.
Siting Your Bin
Before you arrange for delivery of your bin, determine where it’s going to go. Ideally, it should be on private property, such as on a driveway. If it has to go on a public road or pathway, it will have to be positioned in accordance with parking regulations and some local councils require you to obtain a permit before this can be done.
Make sure you order your bin in plenty of time for your needs. Although we’ll always try to fit in with your requirements, this will depend on the availability of the right type of bin and we can ensure we reserve one for you if we have sufficient notice.
Getting the right skip bins in Port Kennedy at the right time and for the correct period isn’t at all difficult providing you plan and prepare. Ordering is a simple process and we’re here to help if you have any doubts or problems because we want to ensure you receive the service you need at the best possible price.
For large projects, we’ll schedule the delivery and removal of bins as needed, so there are no hold-ups due to waste building up on site. We’ll ensure everything runs smoothly and avoid problems. That same high level of service applies equally to the smallest of jobs because we treat all our customers the same.
