A common question we get asked all the time is what you can place in our skip bins in Mahogany Creek and below we are taking you through some of the most frequent items we get asked about.
As you can probably imagine, we get asked all the time about what items can or cannot be placed in our skips. For the most part, the majority of items and materials can be placed in our skip bins with no hassle. However, there are of course some items that are prohibited.
First of all, hazardous or harmful materials cannot be put in the skip. This can include items such as computers, televisions, tyres, asbestos, fridges, fluorescent tubes and paint tins that are not empty. Further items that cannot be placed in skips include medical waste, batteries, gas cylinders, plasterboard, petrol, diesel, explosives and oil. With the issue of paint tins, they can only be placed in the skip if they are completely empty.
Another item we are frequently asked about is mattresses. Mattresses need to be disposed of differently to general waste, and this is something that you will need to inform us about as you can incur extra charges for putting a mattress in the skip. This also applies to tyres too.
Soil and rubble is another common question and both of these materials are fine to put in the skip. However, make us aware of this at your time of booking.
We are commonly asked about electrical items and whether or not these can be placed in skips. Electrical items are not allowed to be placed in skips as they are controlled by other directives. To dispose of these items, you must contact your local authority. Many stores also offer trade in services and this is worth asking about.
Finally, as we previously mentioned, asbestos cannot be placed in a skip. This is a hazardous material that cannot be recycled under any situation and a company who specialises in removing this type of waste will need to be contacted as it cannot go in a standard skip.
